“The Call of the Disciples” Pilgrim Vocation Icon Program

Our Lord reminds us that “the harvest is truly plentiful but the laborers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that he send laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38)

As Christian faithful, we all have a responsibility to foster future leaders of the Church – priests, deacons, nuns, and monks – dedicated to serving God’s people. One way we can be involved in the nurturing of vocations is to pray.

Next Sunday begins a special time of prayer for vocations for the Byzantine Catholic Church in the United States. Each parish has received an icon specially written for this program. Every member of the parish is invited to have “The Call of the Disciples” icon in their home for a week of special prayer for vocations.
