As part of his ongoing evangelization efforts across Iowa, Fr. Bruce was invited to participate in a gathering hosted by FORGE, a Catholic organization dedicated to strengthening men, marriages, and families through faith formation and community engagement. During the event, six Catholic priests made themselves available to hear confessions from men and women attending the conference.
With limited indoor space available for privacy, Fr. Bruce and two other priests moved outdoors to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. For nearly two hours, an unrelenting soaking rain fell, yet neither Fr. Bruce nor the penitents were deterred. Their quiet commitment to the sacrament, even in the rain, was a powerful witness to the hunger for God's mercy and the enduring grace of Reconciliation.
Thank you, Fr. Bruce, for your tireless work evangelizing our beautiful Byzantine faith. And thank you to the penitents, whom we will most likely never meet, for providing such a powerful witness and reminder of what the Church truly is: not a temple or building, but the Body of Christ, the community of the faithful.
