The Italy Jubilee 2025 Pilgrimage was a transformative journey hosted by the Council of Hierarchs who were represented by Archbishop William C. Skurla, Bishop Kurt R. Burnette, Bishop Robert M. Pipta, and Fr. Ed Cimbala, who served as the general tour coordinator. From May 5 to May 15, 2025, pilgrims walked in the footsteps of saints, passed through the Holy Doors, and deepened their connection to the Byzantine Catholic tradition—all while witnessing history unfold in Rome.
As the faithful gathered in Vatican City, the world watched as the papal conclave elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the first American pope, Pope Leo XIV. The pilgrimage took on an even greater significance, as participants experienced the spiritual renewal of the Jubilee alongside this momentous event.
